Description
The Fallen Oak is the historic signature blend of the Kir-Yianni Estate, inspired by the fallen century-old oak tree next to the iconic “Koula” Tower in Naoussa, Imathia.
This exceptional red wine perfectly expresses the winery’s core philosophy: achieving flawless balance while showcasing the unique Macedonian terroir through carefully selected single vineyards. It is crafted from a masterful blend of Xinomavro, Merlot, and Syrah. Xinomavro provides structural complexity and crisp acidity, Merlot adds a velvety, fruity softness, while Syrah contributes deep color and a spicy character.
On the nose, it reveals rich aromas of red fruits like cherry, strawberry, and redcurrant, seamlessly layered with notes of sun-dried tomato, black pepper, vanilla, and subtle oak barrel aging. The palate is beautifully balanced with a medium-to-full body, velvety tannins, lively acidity, and a long, enticingly spicy finish.
